Saint Michael’s is a small town with a rich history. It was founded in 1695 and named after Saint Michael, the patron saint of little people. According to legend, there were once many small people living in this area. One night they had a great feast, which unfortunately led to a lot of drunkenness that morning. As punishment for their behavior, St. Michael removed all the wine from their bodies giving them an extra arm in each location where there was a bottle! To this day, local residents have their St. Michael's arm tattooed on just below each shoulder blade – in remembrance of those drunken days long ago!

St. Michaels is a fun, friendly little town with plenty of things to do and see. Here are just a few: Start off the morning with crab cakes or pancakes at the Rectory Cafe (or one of their many other local favorites!) Then check out the many interesting shops and boutiques on Main Street, or there’s always an art gallery showing in one of the many galleries around town.
