INSPECTION NEWS

Be sure to ask your inspector for their Credentials and Experience. We have been inspecting homes in Maryland since 1988.

Basement and Crawlspace:

Many houses in the Maryland area have a basement, a crawlspace or a combination of both. However some homes are built on a concrete slab and may have neither.

With an accessible under floor crawlspace we will access and report on the overall condition, exposed framing and the presence and condition of the insulation. We will report on the presence of any moisture related concerns on the day of the inspection and educate you about routine observation and maintenance protocols. We will also report on the presence and condition of the vapor barrier and overall ventilation.

When a home has a basement we will report on the conditions both finished and unfinished and identify the material and methods which are visible. When possible we will attempt to remove random drop ceiling tiles to observe the conditions above.

Ask us about our free advice on home energy savings, as the bandboard is one of the leading sources of heat loss in your home. Ask us about the stack affect in your home and how to prevent it.
